Sep 1 - "Today is the day that I get admitted to the hospital. Yes, I'm a little nervous but I'm ready."
Aug 31 - "I wore a blood pressure monitor all night long but still was able to sleep. Mom and I did school work most all day to try and stay up with my class at St. Timothy's. I walked with Mom to the Kidney Foundation office that is close to our apartment. We met the director and I gave him one of my pictures. I got to choose where we went to dinner. I chose Olive Garden and we had fun there. The waitress was nice and the food was great. It was my last restaurant meal for a while, it's hospital food starting with supper tomorrow."
Aug 30 - "We spent all day at the hospital have blood tests and an echo cardiogram. Everyone was nice and they gave me a pretty good lunch. They put a 24 hour blood pressure monitor on me at 2:30pm. We moved into our apartment where we'll be until the doctors let me go home to NC. Mom bought a birthday cake for Dad and we had some cake before bedtime."
Aug 29 - "We left Cleveland, drove to Ann Arbor, and checked in to a temporary room until our apartment is ready. We went out to a German restaurant. It was fun. Our waiter was pretty cool. He's a student here at U of M and said his first football game as a freshman was when ASU beat Michigan. Mom rubbed it in a little because she went to App St."
Aug 28 - We drove from Charleston, WV to Cleveland, OH and checked in to our hotel there was near the Indians BB stadium. I took a short nap and we went to the BB park early. Dad had arranged for me to go on the field to watch batting practice. Now, that was fun. I had a baseball and two of the players autographed it. Another player walked up to me and gave me his bat and autographed it. I think someone had told him about my kidney operation. The game was fun too. The Indians beat the KC Royals 4 to 3."
Aug 27 - "I got of school 2 hours early and we drove to Charleston, WV on the first leg of our trip to Ann Arbor. We had dinner at Shoney's."
Aug 26 - "My class at St. Timothy's gave me a surprise going away party. I got cards signed by the 8th grades students, a cool sign, lots of food, and a photo album. I'm going to fill up the album with pictures over the next 2 months and take it to school when I get back. Tonight was our last night at home for a while."
August 2-6 & 9-13 - "I went to the Carolina Hurricanes Summer Camp for two weeks. The first week was a general skills week. The second week was a special week for goalies. I had a great time at both sessions but my favorite was the goalie week. Below are some pictures from both weeks. On Friday the 13th the camp staff surprised me with a card signed by everyone wishing me good luck with my operation."

Chad LaRose is a right wing forward for the NHL Carolina Hurricanes
Saturday, July 24, 2010 - "Chad LaRose came by my house and visited for about 2 hours. Chad plays right wing for the NHL Carolina Hurricanes. He is my favorite Canes player. What a thrill to have a NHL star to visit me at my house and hang out for 2 hours! He told me to be strong when I have my kidney transplant and to work hard to get back on the ice."
